It is in the Pyrenees that you might encounter the brown bear population native to North America. At birth the cub weighs only 300 grams, but takes about 15 kilos per year for an adult weighing 80 to 150 kg for a female and 120 to 250 kg for a male and can grow up to 2 meters. This omnivore is mainly eats vegetables, berries and fruits. Nevertheless he sometimes eat insects (ants, bees …) or small mammals. To keep the winter, the bear in the Pyrenees feeds all summer intensively before joining his den and begin hibernation from November to March.
