The largest of all sea turtles, the leatherback sea turtle can measure over 2 meters long and weigh nearly 600 kg. It is easily recognizable by its dark, scaleless shell, marked with raised lines that give it a unique appearance.

Amazingly, the leatherback sea turtle is capable of traveling thousands of kilometers between its breeding and feeding grounds. It feeds almost exclusively on jellyfish, thus helping to regulate their population in the oceans. Its body is perfectly adapted for long dives: it can reach depths of 1,200 meters and stay underwater for more than an hour.
